»In Israel, every year on Yom HaShoah, we have many memorial ceremonies. I remember that I was very touched at the first ceremony I attended. But as the years went by, it became less and less touching. I believe it has something to do with the fact that we are constantly reminded of the Holocaust in our everyday lives, which is absolutely important in my opinion. But it makes many of us very indifferent to this important part of our history. After I came back to Israel, after spending three years in California with no reminder of the Holocaust, I was again extremely touched by the ceremony. That made me aware of this issue. I believe more should be done to prevent indifference, and I believe this project is an important step.«
