»I am very interested in exploring, how the Holocaust effects the sons and grandsons of Germans. Sometimes I feel that there is a lot of anger against Germany. An anger that comes from frustration on the one hand and from ignorance on the other. It is a result of the unwillingness to get to know Germany as it is today, and to recognise that it is not the same place that it was many years ago. This makes the project important to me: To preserve and remember the Holocaust and to help us to move on and grow out of it: become stronger and – more importantly – more moral.«
